Thanks for visiting the Counting Hope website - we're so glad you came. Unfortunately our mission has now come to a natural conclusion and it is with a heavy heart that we announce the trustees' decision to close the charity.
In 2015 we set out to empower the people of Sal Island, Cape Verde through education - providing them with the knowledge and resources to enable them to help themselves. Since then we've donated hundreds of items to schools all over the island, donated thousands of Euros, met countless heroes and even run events in the UK! We're proud of our tireless efforts that have enabled us to make a positive and noticeable impact to so many, including our biggest project which was the build of a kitchen. This kitchen ensures school children have access to at least one good meal each day: enabling to learn, play, and stay healthy.
It's safe to say it's been a blast and we've enjoyed every second. This type of work is immensely rewarding and consequently it's extremely difficult to let go. However in October it was decided that Counting Hope was not best placed to help the people of Cape Verde; although we have made progress it has been slow and we simply don't have the resources to bring about the change some of the other organisations who operate on the island can. It's time to pass the baton on.
The last thing any of us want to do is give up and we hope this isn't the end. We trust that organisations working out there will make the difference we set out for, and wish the people of Cape Verde the very best - they thoroughly deserve it. For now though, our trustees are working to maximise their impact in other areas.
Thank you to our trustees; our partners in Cape Verde; every single volunteer; every single person that every donated; Sector Support and Voluntary Action North East Lincolnshire - you've changed lives and Counting Hope would not be the same without you! It's been an absolutely incredible journey.
If you'd like any more information or have any questions, please email email@example.com and we'd be happy to help.
With kind regards,
The Trustees of Counting Hope
