Our agreement with a women’s cooperative in Sal!

On 19 February 2016 we signed an agreement with Cooperativa Mulheres Do Sal, a women’s coperative on Sal Island based in Espartos. The agreement/protocol makes it easier for us to work together to help the schools and people in Cabo Verde, as well as move forward to help even more.¬†These photos were taken by Rick Green and show our Chair Person, Andy Green, singing the agreement with the vice-chair of the cooperative, Teodora Neves, as well as our first symbolic donation which we later distributed to two schools.

We hope that with this protocol in place we can continue to grow as a charity and as partners! This day was important to us to show the people of Sal Island that we will keep our promises and work with them to achieve what they want to achieve, rather than working blindly to meet our goals! Some of the main aims of the protocol are too:

  • Identify the most important areas where help is needed, for example within education;
  • Start official projects and programmes to help the people of Sal Island;
  • Raise awareness of the problems on Sal Island;
  • Raise money and supplies to help in the above areas.
